PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large-sized inkjet recorder high in recording efficiency and high at recording precision and a method of adjusting the inkjet recorder. SOLUTION: A plurality of head units 10 are arranged in the inkjet recorder. The head units are provided with a recording head 6 mounted on a carriage 1 to be moved back and forth in the width direction of a recording medium for discharging ink droplets onto the recording medium and a sub-tank 7 mounted on the carriage, along with the recording head, in a position-adjustable manner, which is fed with ink from a main tank 9 for supplying ink to the recording head. With this configuration, a water-head difference between the ink surface inside the sub-tank and the nozzle formation surface of the recording head can be adjusted resulting in the uniformity of the ink amount discharged from the nozzle, leading to enhanced recording precision even if a slight adjustment for every recording head cannot be made when making a drive waveform generated in the inkjet recorder common, for example.
