PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block copolymer capable of giving a long life light-emitting device when used as a light-emitting material of a light-emitting device. SOLUTION: The block copolymer comprises a block (A) containing at least two different repeating units comprised of a specific divalent heterocyclic group and another repeating unit comprised of an arylene group and a block (B) containing a repeating unit comprised of an arylene group and another repeating unit comprised of a divalent aromatic amine residue. The polymer light-emitting device has a composition comprised of the block copolymer, a solvent, a light-emitting material other than the block copolymer, a positive hole-transporting material other than the block copolymer, either an electron-transporting material other than the block copolymer or a combination of at least two of them, a light-emitting thin film containing the block copolymer, and an organic layer containing an anode, a cathode, and the block copolymer, and arranged between the anode and the cathode.
