PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state imaging device, and a drive method therefor, capable of high-speed AD conversion without an increased clock frequency.SOLUTION: When converting an analog signal, supplied from each pixel disposed in a matrix shape through a column output line disposed for each pixel column, into a digital signal using a reference signal having a varied output voltage along the lapse of time, comparison between the analog signal from the pixel and each reference signal having a mutually different offset value in a signal range that the analog signal can take is performed in a plurality of comparators. A count value according to each comparison result of the comparators is retained in a memory as a digital signal. Thus, high-speed AD conversion can be achieved without an increased clock frequency. |
