PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately acquire an amount of a developer to be consumed to accurately acquire a residual amount of the developer in acquiring the residual amount of the developer from a unit toner consumption even when the developer is further consumed due to a reduction in the residual amount of the developer.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus 12 for forming an image on a recording medium P with a developer, the image forming apparatus 12 comprising: an image carrier 1 on which an electrostatic image is formed; a developing device 3 that develops an electrostatic image formed on the image carrier 1; and an information acquisition part 17 that acquires information that is classified according to the degree of continuity in a main scanning direction of the electrostatic image formed on the image carrier 1.
