PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared detection apparatus configured to increase a detection range which is an area below and close to an installation position.SOLUTION: An infrared detection apparatus to be fixed to a housing 2 which is arranged on an installation surface 41 substantially perpendicular to a bottom face 42 of a space 4 and having a predetermined height from the bottom face 42 includes: an infrared sensor 102 formed by arranging one or more infrared detection elements in multiple rows; and a scanning unit having a scanning rotation axis S1 and causing the infrared sensor 102 to scan the space 4 by rotating the infrared sensor 102 around the scanning rotation axis S1.
