PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine having auxiliary equipment to be driven by a cam shaft, in which a thrust receiving part provided on the cam shaft has a simpler and smaller supporting structure.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine 1 having auxiliary equipment 12 to be driven by a cam shaft 20 includes: a cylinder head 4 having a plurality of bearing parts 24 for rotatably supporting the cam shaft; and an auxiliary equipment housing 41 mounted on the cylinder head for internally accepting one end of the cam shaft. The auxiliary equipment housing has an extension part 43 having an end face 43A opposed to a side face 31C of a one-end side bearing part 24A arranged nearest the auxiliary equipment housing, out of the plurality of bearing parts, via a predetermined cavity in an axial direction of the cam shaft, and the cam shaft has a thrust receiving part 35 overhung in a radial direction and arranged between the side face of the one-end side bearing part and the end face of the extension part. |
