PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drag mechanism of a fishing reel, which allows an operating member to be operated with smaller operating force even if the drag force becomes larger.SOLUTION: A drag mechanism 23 is a mechanism for braking rotation in a fishing line delivery direction of a yarn winding spool 12 of a double bearing reel 100. The drag mechanism 23 includes: a drive shaft 30 having a first male screw part 30f; a star drag 3; a friction mechanism 4; and a coating plated with fluororesin-containing electroless nickel. The star drag 3 has a female screw part 3d screw-engaged with the first male screw part 30f. The friction mechanism 4 is a mechanism which is changed in frictional force by turning the star drag 3 and capable of braking the rotation in the fishing line delivery direction of the spool 12. The coating 90 plated with fluororesin-containing electroless nickel is formed on the first male screw part 30f. |
