A synchronous electric motor having a multi-winding type exciter pole and a driving apparatus thereof and a driving method thereof are provided to increase product adaptability of the synchronous electric motor through an arrangement structure for winding a number of excitation coils with difference resistances around an exciter pole formed in a stator. A synchronous electric motor has a stator and a rotor. The stator has at least one exciter pole(500) wound with an excitation coil and a number of teeth wound with a main coil. The rotor has a magnet magnetized by an excitation current selectively supplied through the excitation coil. N excitation coils(512a,512b,512c) with different resistance values are wound around the exciter pole, and one of the N excitation coils is selected as an excitation coil for magnetizing the magnet. |
