PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for switching a point tong capable of easily conveying without obstacles even the point tong is provided with a narrow tong with no defect in conventional technology. SOLUTION: In the apparatus for switching the point tong (3) mounted on a roller face of a slide chair (9) which tong leg (7) is constituted of at least one pair of rollers (10), when the rolling and moving tong (3) is transferred from a first roller (11a) to a second roller (11b), a third roller (12) is arranged almost at the center of both rollers (11a, 11b) in parallel beside the pair of rollers (10) so that the rolling and moving tong (3) is supported with the third roller (12).
