The problem addressed by the present invention is to provide a display device, a display method, and a program that enable display for easily performing an impromptu effect operation. In order to solve such problem, this display device is provided with a display unit and a display control unit that performs musical composition characteristic amount display by dividing a musical composition, on the basis of a musical composition characteristic amount which results from analysis of the musical composition, at every frequency range and at every time band according to the position of beats in the musical composition, conducting ornamentation in accordance with the volume of such frequency band and time band, and displaying each divided region on the display. |
