摘要 A grain refiner for magnesium (Mg) alloys according to the present invention contains aluminum (Al), manganese (Mn), and compounds of Al and Mn contained in a fine structure of the refiner. Among the compounds of Al and Mn, the area of the compounds of Al/Mn having a compositional ratio of 4-4.5 is greater than the area of the compounds of Al/Mn having a compositional ratio of 5.5-6.5. When the refiner is added to molten Mg, a crystal grain is refined to the size of 50-100 μm. The refiner according to the present invention can be introduced into the molten Mg provided in the form of an alloy and a liquid phase rather than the form of powders differently from a refiner according to the related art. Accordingly, the refiner according to the present invention can be safely introduced into the molten Mg while lowering the danger of ignition of the molten Mg. In addition, the refiner is economical and advantageous in that the refiner can be easily applied to a typical commercialized molding facility.
