Device and method for monitoring tyre pressure

An assembly monitors automotive tyre pressure by making a direct measurement on the first tyre (1) with a sensor (2) mounted directly on the wheel and a wheel (1) speed tachometer (4). Further wheel speed tachometers (4) are attached to other wheels (3). The data is passed to a central processing unit (6) which then determines the air pressure in the other tyres. Also claimed is a commensurate process.
