The method involves making a flow pipe (1) that is arranged as contour to a heater. A wrinkle is made by pressing two wall sections in an end area of a flow pipe, when the pressed wall sections are supported by a support bar under formation of an opening that is attached to an adapter. The adapter is inserted into the opening that is formed by the support bar in the end area of the flow pipe. The bar is soldered with a solder, where the melting point of the bar is higher than the melting point of the solder for soldering the heater and subsequently soldering the heater with the solder. An independent claim is also included for a flow heater including a flow pipe.
