TREATING METHOD AND APPARATUS OF INCINERATION RESIDUE BY CATALYST

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method and an apparatus efficiently reducing and removing toxic substances like heavy metals or dioxin from incineration residue, without needing cost for fuel for heating or a facility. SOLUTION: In this treating method of incineration residue, moisture-containing incineration residue is kept at 120-500°C together with the catalyst in an oxygen-free atmosphere, heavy metal elements in the incineration residue are converted into sulfides by sulfur contained in the incineration residue and insolubilized, and chlorine contained in organic chlorine compounds in the incineration residue is separated as hydrochloric acid to detoxify. An incineration residue treating furnace with walls formed with castable refractory is used for treating the incineration residue detoxified by the above method. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
