<p>A method of treatment of HIV by inducing an immune response that includes a robust mucosal immune response. Parenteral administration of an immunogen ic composition into the intestinal wall brings the composition into contact with the Peyer's patches of the gut-associated lymphoid system. Administrati on of multiple immunogenic compositions may track with sites or paths target ed by HIV for infection. The method of administration not only targets the m ost susceptible part of the host immune system to HIV, but also follows the path of entry and the spread of the naturally occurring disease.</p> |
