PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform personal authentication by using information which is high in security strength while simplifying setting and reproduction.SOLUTION: Application IDs of applications arbitrarily selected by a customer are registered in association with the user ID of the customer in an order in which the customer has selected the applications in a user database 15 stored in a hard disk 12C of a bank system 12. When the customer successively selects a predetermined number of applications via a touch panel 21 by a user terminal 18, a selected application list in which the application IDs of the selected applications are recorded in association in the selection order is announced from the user terminal 18 to the bank system 12. In the bank system 12, a user authentication server 13 authenticates the customer on the basis of the fact that the application IDs of the password applications registered in association with the user ID of the customer and the selection order are coincident with the application IDs and the selection order included in the selected application list received from the user terminal 18.
