PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for irradiating static elimination light to an image carrier.SOLUTION: A static elimination part 12a in an image forming unit 15a is disposed at a position where a distance from an intermediate transfer belt 7 is longer than the distance to an adjacent developing part 16b constituting an adjacent image forming unit 15b from the intermediate transfer belt 7. Second light is emitted to an adjacent image carrier 2b side, and the second light is reflected on the intermediate transfer belt 7 and irradiating the area before the image is transferred on the adjacent image carrier 2b as second static elimination light. The static elimination part 12a has a plurality of first LEDs for emitting first light and a plurality of second LEDs for emitting second light. The second LED positioned on the end part of a main scanning direction is arranged inside the main scanning direction rather than the first LED positioned at the end part of the main scanning direction, and includes a base plate 150a mounted with the first LED and the second LED. The base plate 150a extends to the adjacent image carrier 2b side rather than the light emitting surface of the second LED, and includes an extension part 151a for reflecting a portion of the second light on the intermediate transfer belt 7 side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
