摘要 A recyclable food package, such as Stand Up Pouch (SUP) is prepared using a polyethylene structure having a first web and a second web. Each of the first web and second web contains at least one layer of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) to provide stiffness. The outer web also contains a layer of lower density polyethylene for improved optical properties. The laminated structure may be printed on one of the layers that form the interface between the two webs to protect the printing. This SUP design is suitable for preparing packages of a wide variety of flowable foods (including liquids and solids).

A laminated structure that is made from polymeric material; the laminated structure comprising A) an outer web comprising A.1) a first-A layer comprising an HDPE composition and,A.2) a second-A layer comprising polyethylene selected from the group consisting of LLDPE, MDPE and HDPE; B) an inner web comprising B.1) a first-B layer that is in contact with the outer web, wherein the first-B layer comprises polyethylene selected from the group consisting of LLDPE and MDPE;B.2) a second-B layer comprising an HDPE composition; andB.3) a third-B layer comprising a sealable polyethylene composition;wherein the outer web is laminated to the inner web; the HDPE, MDPE, LLDPE and sealable polyethylene composition collectively form at least 95 weight % of the polymeric material that is used to prepare the laminated structure;and wherein the laminated structure i) has at least one layer comprising an opacifying agent; or ii) is printed at the interface between the outer web and the inner web; or iii) has at least one layer comprising an opacifying agent and is printed at the interface between the outer web and the inner web.
