Wind-protector for open-top vehicles

The U-shaped tensioning bow (3,3') can pivot round an horizontal axis (6) in relation to the vehicle structure (5) from horizontal rest to vertical active settings. The crosspiece (7) of the bow is joined to the protector strip (5) at one end and at the far end joined to a fixed wind-in roller (1). A holding bar (8) holds the strip in its centre at the holding bar in the active setting of the bar. At rest, the crosspiece of the bow lies next to the roller and the bar is guided at its ends on the legs (4) of the bow. The bar can be extended towards the axis (6) by a cable which guides it to a coiling drum provided on the main strip roller (1). In the end active setting of the bar (8) this is drawn downwards by a tensioner fitted out in turn with a holding cam. The cam is arranged on a guiding hook lying below the axis (6) and a bolt fitted to the hook runs to and works in conjunction with the holding bar (8).
