PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of shift shock when shifting from N to D. SOLUTION: An ECT-ECU contains a step for determining whether a brake is turned on, an accelerator is turned off and a vehicle is stopped or not (S110) when shift is set in a neutral (N) position (YES in S100), and a step for outputting a solenoid pattern of a C1 direct pressure control circuit to a hydraulic circuit when shift is set in the neutral position (S130) in the condition wherein the brake is turned on, the accelerator is turned off and the vehicle is stopped (YES in S110) and shift is not set for garaging (YES in S120). In the processing in S130, the ECT-ECU sets the direct pressure command value of the C1 clutch as a friction engagement element to be engaged in a forward traveling position at the minimum value, and sets the direct pressure command value of the brake element B2 for carrying out the squat control at the maximum value.
