<p>The invention relates to a method for use in the manufacture of a core used in the center of paper and board reels. In the method, cores (1) are glued to each other end-to-end by working the mating surfaces of the cores that will be jointed into a conical matching joint form (2,3), by pressing the glued joint surfaces against each other to form a core joint (4) and by cutting the required core lengths from the long core tube thus obtained. In accordance with the invention, the position of the core joint (4) in the long core tube (5) that is manufactured is recorded and, as the core joint reaches the smoothing point (6) positioned at a distance from the jointing point, the longitudinal movement of the core tube is stopped, the core tube is rotated over, and the joint is smoothed.</p> |
