The method involves using a controlled step drive in which a full revolution of the rotor is formed from a sequence of distinguishable individual steps, whereby the rotor is accelerated by switching on a stator field and braked by commutating the stator field. Independent claims are also included for a brushless d.c. motor and for a use of a rotary pump driven by a brushless d.c. motor. |
