<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which shortens the first print time by determining a color of a developer from print data and controlling stop of conveyance of a printing medium in accordance with an image forming unit provided with the developer in the color for use. <P>SOLUTION: A reception part 401 determines the color of the developer for use, from print data. A driving part rotationally drives a photoreceptor of an image forming unit having the developer in the color for use on the basis of an amount of rotation managed by a medium print management part 403 so that an outer peripheral surface potential of the photoreceptor reaches a prescribed level. A medium conveyance control part 405 conveys the printing medium so that the printing medium reaches the image forming unit having the developer in the color for use after the photoreceptor is rotated by the amount of rotation to cause the surface potential of the photoreceptor to reach the prescribed level, whereby the first print time is shortened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
