<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which is capable of surely avoiding continuous paper from being in a contact state with an optical fixing means as it is, when the conveyance of paper is stopped. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophotographic system image forming apparatus includes: a flash fixing device 6 fixing an image transferred to the continuous paper 2 by irradiation with flash light; a paper conveying means having a first paper conveying section for conveying the paper on the upstream side from the flash fixing device 6 in a paper conveying direction and a second paper conveying section for conveying the paper on the downstream side from the flash fixing device 6 in the paper conveying direction; a rotation detector 31 for detecting a paper conveyance amount on the upstream side of the flash fixing device 6 in the paper conveying direction; a rotation detector 32 for detecting the paper conveyance amount on the downstream side of the flash fixing device 6 in the paper conveying direction; and a control means for performing control so as to resume the conveyance of the paper by the second paper conveying section, when the paper conveyance amount detected by the rotation detector 31 is larger than that detected by the rotation detector 32, in stopping the drive of the paper conveying means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
