The method involves projecting edges (41, 42) of a covering material piece (4) outwards over edges (51, 52) of a carrier component (5), and tilting the edges of the piece by a tilting unit (3) around the edges of the component to an edge wrapping. The edges of the piece are laterally supported in a position, in which the wrapping is held and projected inwards over an edge of a front surface (53) of the component. The wrapping is shifted from the position towards the component under maintenance of the lateral support using upper or lower tools (1, 2), and is pressed at the front surface. An independent claim is also included for a laminating device for production of a lining part.
