PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacture cost of a commutator, by preventing the leakage of a resin material in molding, by resin, of a drum, thereby dispensing with a post-processing for removal of the resin. SOLUTION: A segment material, which is equipped with a cylindrical body, a plurality of riser sections that project axially, and a cut that is equipped with a pair of inclines, is formed in a segment material forming process P1, and each riser section is bent outward in its radial direction so as to form a bent in a bent forming process P2. In a state that an engaging piece, which is formed in a mold, is fitted from its axial direction in the cut so as to block a section concerned and that an abutting section, which is formed in the mold, is abutted from its axial direction against the bent so as to block the section concerned, a resin material is injected into a molding chamber so as to form the drum inside the segment material in a drum molding process P3. Then, the segment material, where the drum is formed in its inside, is cut at equal intervals in its circumferential direction so as to form a plurality of segment pieces in a segment molding process P4.
