<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable automatic opening of a paper discharge tray only when needed, for example, upon power-on or image recording initiation with a small number of parts in an image recording apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: When a releasing switch 72 of the paper discharge tray 45 is pressed by scanning of a recording part 31a, the lock of the paper discharge tray 45 is released. As a result, even when a roller, etc. used in conveyance of recording sheets are rotated other than the case of image recording, the paper discharge tray 45 is not unnecessarily opened. The tray can be automatically opened only when needed such as in the case of power on and the case of image recording initiation, without using an expensive part like a solenoid. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
