摘要 Disclosed are a surgical robot system and a method of restricting a motion thereof. A surgical robot includes: a restriction area setup unit for receiving a restriction area setup information regarding an area where an operation of an object to be controlled is restricted, to generate and store a restriction area coordinate information; an arm operation unit for receiving an operation information for operating the object to be controlled; and an operation determining unit for determining whether the outer surface of the object to be controlled makes contact with an area of the restriction area coordinate information, by referring displacement information of the object to be controlled according to the operation information. A safety of a patient during surgery is secured by fundamentally preventing a malfunction with respect to a robot arm and/or an instrument.
