PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device simultaneously displaying a video signal and the analysis result of the video signal which simultaneously displays the video signal and the analysis result of the quality and feature of the received video signal on a screen so as to instruct a viewer the quality and the feature of the video signal. SOLUTION: A received video signal is distributed into two; the one is fed to a display control section 2 and the other is fed to a signal analysis section 10. The video signal given to the signal analysis section 10 is separated into a luminance signal Y and a color difference signal C, and they are respectively stored in Y, C frame memories 12, 13. First and second image quality evaluation sections 14, 15 respectively use Y and C signals to obtain and output sharpness S, blockiness B and quality Q or the like of the image. Furthermore, a quality fault detection section 16 detects and outputs a deteriorated quality of the image. A changeover section 17 selects image quality or quality deterioration detection data with an external switching signal and provides an output of the selected data to the display control section 2. A display section 3 displays the image and the image quality or quality deterioration detection data selected by the changeover section 17 on a screen of a CRT or the like and on one corner of the image in e.g. a bar graph or the like directed laterally.
