PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor induction motor which can be manufactured with reduced man-hours, employs a concentrated winding to obtain a large short-pitch winding factor and has an improved motor efficiency. SOLUTION: This capacitor induction motor has a rotor 6 and a stator 10 provided outside the rotor 6. The stator 10 comprises a yoke 10a on the outer circumference side and five teeth 10b which are made to protrude from the yoke 10a toward the center and arranged circumferentially with the same intervals so as to have a 5-slot structure. Two teeth 10b with two slots between them are electrically insulated and main windings 11a and 11b are applied to the two teeth 10b as concentrated windings. A tooth 10b between the two main windings 11a and 11b and a tooth 10b adjacent to the one main winding 11b are electrically insulated and auxiliary windings are applied to the teeth 10b as concentrated windings. The windings are connected to each other so as to make the two main windings 11a and 11b apart from each other by a mechanical angle of 144 degrees and have the same polarities and make the two auxiliary windings 12a and 12b apart from each other by a mechanical angle of 144 degrees and have the same polarities.
