PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio data communication method and a radio mobile terminal for reducing the power consumption of a battery power source of an unconnected radio mobile terminal until the radio mobile terminal is connected to another radio mobile terminal when a distance for radio communication between the radio mobile terminals is limited. SOLUTION: A first radio mobile terminal alternately repeats, before starting data communication with a second radio mobile terminal, a connection waiting signal transmission period during which power down for stopping radio communication and connection waiting signal transmission are repeated and a connection waiting receiving period for receiving a connection waiting signal or a connection request signal from a second radio mobile terminal.
