PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated a magnetite particle having good dispersibility in an organic solvent.SOLUTION: There is provided a coated magnetite particle which has a silane compound layer obtained by coating a surface of a core particle of magnetite with a silane compound. The coated magnetite particle has an average circle-equivalent diameter determined by image analysis of 0.08 μm or more and 1.0 μm or less. In addition, the coated magnetite particle has a circularity determined by image analysis of 0.8 or less and the number of particles having a circle-equivalent diameter determined by image analysis of exceeding 1.0 μm is 15% or less in the whole.
