PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure reliability and to improve recording density while attaining low noise and low power consumption by slow rotation and fast transfer by fast rotation, in a magnetic disk device. SOLUTION: The magnetic disk device 10 is provided with: a magnetic disk medium 3 driven at two or more rotational speeds; a magnetic head 5 for recording and reproducing data between itself and the magnetic disk medium 3; a heater for controlling a floating height of the magnetic head 5; and a control part 14 for controlling energizing to the heater.
