PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a chromium-containing ferritic steel sheet for a solar cell substrate, which has necessary and sufficient characteristics, by finding characteristics required for stainless steel as a substrate for a compound solar cell.SOLUTION: The chromium-containing ferritic steel sheet for a solar cell substrate comprises, by mass, ≤0.03% C, ≤0.03% N, >0.0025% and ≤0.05% C+N, 0.2-3.0% Si, ≤0.8% Mn, ≤0.04% P, ≤0.02% S, ≥5% and <10.5% Cr, ≤1.0% Ni, ≤0.01% Al, less than 4×(C+N)% Ti, 4×(C+N)% or more but no more than 0.50% Nb and the balance being Fe and inevitable impurities and has an average surface roughness Ra of ≤0.03 μm. |
