<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector which has a push-in/push-out mechanism that can facilitate making the profile lower and its size smaller. <P>SOLUTION: In the push-in/push-out mechanism 16, a cam element 20 has a heart shaped cam 25 and a cam groove around the heart-shaped cam, and a free end 21a of a rocking arm 21 is connected smoothly with the cam groove 26 and slides through the cam groove 26. The cam groove 26 comprises a part of a linear guide groove 27, a first inclined surface 28, a first convex part 29, a first concave part 30, a second inclined surface 31, a second convex part 32, a second concave part 33, a third inclined surface 34, a third convex part 35, a third concave part 36, a fourth inclined surface 37 and a fourth convex part 38. The free end 21a slides in one direction, in this order.
