The method involves causing transmission of a video mail from an application server (AS) of an address to a B-subscriber by a soft switch in progression of a call, which originates from a terminal of a A-subscriber. The terminal of the designated address informs for sending the video mail. The video mail is received from the terminal and is transmitted to the designated address. The terminal of the designated address is informed by the application server. The terminal of the designated address is informed by the soft switch. An independent claim is also included for a server.
