<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic/inorganic hybrid type light emitting device having high efficiency and long life. <P>SOLUTION: A hole transport layer 3 formed of an organic material on which multiple luminescent semiconductor particles 7 are dispersed and arranged thereon is stacked on a transparent electrode 2 on a substrate 1, an electron transport layer 5 and a negative electrode 6 are formed on the hole transport layer 3, and a voltage is applied between the transparent electrode 2 and the electrode 6, and thereby the luminescent semiconductor particles 7 are made to emit light by holes and/or electrons transported by a current injection function by an organic semiconductor material.
