PURPOSE: A recombinant cell line expressing excessive water-soluble TGF beta receptors and a method for inhibiting growth and transition of cancer cell by administrating the recombinant cell line in vivo then expressing and secreting TGF beta receptors, are provided. CONSTITUTION: The recombinant cell line E14/TS.NEO (KCLRF-BP-00017) is produced by transforming a mouse thymoma, E14, with MGF-derived retrovirus MGF/Ts.neo (figure 1b) containing extracellular region of TGF beta receptor (from amino acid 1 to amino acid 159). When tumor-induced mice are dosed with the recombinant cell line treated with mitomycin C as cell division inhibitor to temporarily supply TGF beta receptors, tumor formation is effectively inhibited.
