摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of further accurately determining that there is abnormality such as clogging in a low pressure EGR loop being an exhaust recirculating passage of a low pressure EGR means or a high pressure EGR loop being an exhaust recirculating passage of a high pressure EGR means, in an exhaust recirculating device of an internal combustion engine for performing EGR by simultaneously using or switching the low pressure EGR means and the high pressure EGR means. <P>SOLUTION: Before and after a predetermined abnormality determination transitional state (S103), when an EGR gas quantity recirculated by low pressure EGR and an EGR gas quantity recirculated by high pressure EGR change, an absolute value &Delta;T of a difference in the intake temperature before and after its change is detected (S102). The presence of abnormality in the low pressure EGR loop and/or the high pressure EGR loop is determined (S107, and S109) based on a difference between this &Delta;T and a reference value &Delta;Tbase corresponding to the &Delta;T when there is no abnormality in the low pressure EGR loop and the high pressure EGR loop (S104, and S108). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
