<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly distribute print jobs to another print unit depending on the situation, when a print job cannot be executed by a specified print unit. <P>SOLUTION: In response to the reception of an external print request when the print unit is in a busy state, in the print unit, a processing block 206 displays an indication of distributed printing in which the print request is processed in a distributed manner to the other print unit, using a display unit; a processing block 208 receives an instruction in regard to whether or not the distributed printing is to be performed, using an input unit; and in response to the instruction reception to perform distributed printing, processing blocks 210 and 212 searches for other print units via a communication channel, and enables selection by displaying the print units on the display unit, as a print distribution target for the distributed printing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
