A COMPOSITION FOR MANUFACTURING A THERMOPLASTIC POLYURETHANE ELASTOMER BY USING A POWDER SLUSH MOLDING PROCESS

Provided are a composition for preparation of thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer(TPU) which facilitates a molded product to be released from the mold in molding process of TPU, decreases a working temperature and a molding energy and thus a time of process cycle, and increases a smoothness of molded product, and a method for preparing the TPU. The composition comprises a polymer comprising 30-70 parts by weight of ether-containing polyester polyol, 15-60 parts by weight of isocyanate, 5-40 parts by weight of chain extender; and, as a lubricant, 0.15 parts by weight of montane-based wax with respect of 100 parts by weight of the polymer. The composition is prepared by the method comprising the steps of (i) firstly mixing 30-70 parts by weight of ether-containing polyester polyol and 5-40 parts by weight of chain extender with stirring for 30-100 deg.C for 1-10 minutes, (ii) adding 15-60 parts by weight of isocyanate to the mixture of the step(i) and followed by stirring at rate of 300-1000 rpm for 1-10 minutes, (iii) aging the product from the step(ii) at 60-140 deg.C for 1-48 hours, (iv) milling the aged product at temperature of 0 deg.C or less, (v) blending 0.1-5 parts by weight of montane-based wax to 100 parts by weight of the milled product, and (vi) extruding the blend from the step(v) at 150-300 deg.C.
