ELECTROMAGNETIC CLOAKING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conceal or cloak an object or a volume of some space from detection by an external observer.

SOLUTION: A method for establishing the volume to be concealed includes the establishment a plurality of volume elements to be concealed on the periphery of the concealable volume. The respective volume elements to be concealed have a material parameter determined so as to lead a propagating wave to a periphery of the concealable volume. In the method, coordinate conversions suitable for mapping the concealable volume space to the volume space to be concealable are discriminated, and a corresponding conversion is applied to the material parameter values spatially distributed in the concealable volume space.
