PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a coating film on a light alloy wheel capable of preventing decline of product yield by eliminating a defective appearance of a metallic layer, which is achieved by forming a sufficiently thick layer by static powder coating to eliminate an apparent unevenness of the skin of the metal casting. SOLUTION: The method for the forming coating film on the metallic light alloy wheel is characterized by comprising the step of forming a layer by electrostatically coating at least a part of the surface side of the decorative face of the light alloy wheel body with a powder coating material by injecting the same from the backside of the decorative face of the light alloy wheel body and the step of forming a metallic layer over the electrostatically coated layer.
