PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coater which controls a retention of a varnish and allows an attempt of stabilizing the quality of the varnish coating. SOLUTION: A coating unit 7 has a reservoir 43 for a varnish and a varnish original roller 29 with the lower part immersed in the varnish stored in the reservoir 43 which carries the varnish to the upstream side through rotation. A bottom plate 47, arranged opposite the varnish original roller 29 of the reservoir 43, is bent along the contour of the lower side of the varnish original roller 29. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
