An apparatus and a method for blocking an E-mail receiving response are provided to block a receiving response packet from being transmitted to a transmitter by handling and processing the tag information of an E-mail, thereby preventing the wrong use of a function of E-mail receiving reply and individual privacy protection. A read unit(210) reads the tag information of an E-mail. A change unit(230) handles and processes predetermined information among the read-out tag information. The change unit blocks a receiving response packet including information about whether the E-mail is received from being transmitted to a transmitter which transmits the E-mail. A verification part(250) verifies whether the receiving response packet is transmitted to a communications port except a designated communications port. A packet controller(260) makes the receiving response packet drop in case the receiving response packet is transmitted to the communications port except the communications port in which the receiving response packet is designated. A setting unit(240) provides a setup menu to the instrument screen of a user so that the user set up whether to block the receiving response packet. An output unit(270) outputs the read-out tag information to the instrument screen of the user.
