<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head capable of increasing carry by the synergistic effect of a centroid position and high repulsion. <P>SOLUTION: The hollow golf club head 2 is provided with a face part 4, a crown part 6 and a sole part 8. The sole part 8 has a thick part 18 whose thickness is≥5 mm. On a cross section by a reference vertical plane, the length in the front and back direction of the thick part 18 is≥5 mm and≤40 mm. On the cross section by the reference vertical plane, the shortest distance between the forefront point P1 of the thick part 18 and a face inner surface 20 is≤10 mm. On the cross section by the reference vertical plane, between the thick part 18 and the face inner surface 20, a thin part 22 whose minimum thickness is≤3 mm is formed.
