PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a modified conjugated diene polymer or copolymer especially excellent in an interaction between a rubber composition and carbon black and/or silica, capable of improving dispersibility of these fillers, and excellent in low heat generating property, fracture characteristics, abrasion resistance and the like.SOLUTION: There is provided a method of manufacturing a modified conjugated diene polymer or copolymer by reacting an active part of a polymer having an organic metal type active part in the molecule with a modifier used as a primary modifier, which is a compound containing (a) a reactive group generating a covalent bond with the polymer by reacting with the active part and (b) two or more same or different nitrogen-containing functional groups which exist on one linear chain from the reactive group in the molecule and no active proton in the molecule and (c) at one of the nitrogen-containing functional groups is protected by a hydrolyzable functional group containing a primary or secondary amino group and having an N-Si bond and contains 0 or 1 tertiary amino group, and a linear terminal is a primary amino group of which an active proton is protected by a hydrolyzable functional group containing a tertiary amino group or silicon and having the N-Si bond. |
