[Problem] To provide an adhesive composition that actualizes excellent water resistance and hot water resistance without impairing the instant adhesiveness. [Solution] A 2-cyanoacrylate adhesive composition characterized by containing a 2-cyanoacrylic acid ester and a specific phthalic anhydride derivative wherein the content of the aforementioned phthalic anhydride derivative is 0.01-5 mass% relative to the total amount of adhesive composition. The adhesive composition preferably also contains an elastomer.
