Reader for exchanging data with a mobile data storage device

The reader (LG) has a reception electronics unit for converting a high frequency signal received through an antenna (ANT) into a low frequency signal. A decoding device converts the low frequency signal into data, an analog-digital converter (ADC) digitizes signals, and a memory device (MEM) is linked to the analog-digital converter for storing the low frequency signal from period of time from a communication event. An analysis device evaluates the low frequency signal from the period of time from a communication event stored in the memory device.
