A high power compact fluorescent lamp, which comprises a base (2), a ballast (3), a compact fluorescent lamp tube (1) with two end electrodes which mechanically connects with said base (2) and electrically connects with said ballast (3), and an electrical connection terminal provided on the base, wherein the effective length of the gas discharge path between said two end electrodes of said compact fluorescent lamp tube (1) is 70 to 284 cm, the correspondent power of the fluorescent lamp tube is 43 to 125 w, moreover, said ballast has a starting and operating ability which corresponds to said fluorescent lamp tube.
